The investment funds proposed by Ethos follow an approach that:

  • Favours a long-term investment horizon and partnership with companies.
  • Applies exclusion criteria to screen out companies active in sensitive sectors: weapons, nuclear energy, tobacco, gambling, pornography, genetically modified organisms in agrochemicals, thermal coal and unconventional fossil fuels. Furthermore, companies exposed to serious controversies are also excluded from the investment universe.
  • Integrates environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in company evaluations, as a complement to the classic analysis. In addition to the exclusions, an in-depth analysis is performed to evaluate companies according to criterias specific to their industry and the type of investment. This analysis represents the foundation for "best-in-class" ratings. Ethos only selects companies with an ESG rating above average as part of its investment universe.
  • Exercises shareholder voting rights in line with the Ethos Proxy Voting Guidelines, based on corporate governance best practice and sustainable development principles.
  • Engages in a regular dialogue with companies in order to foster their awareness of corporate governance best practice and sustainable development requirements.
