Dominique Biedermann, CEO
Dominique Biedermann (1958) has been the CEO of Ethos Foundation since 1998 and Ethos Services since its creation in 2000.
Dominique Biedermann received his PhD in economics from the University of Geneva in 1989. His doctoral thesis focused on the behaviour of real interest rates in an international environment of flexible exchange rates. In 1991, Dominique Biedermann joined the Pension Fund of the Teachers of the Public Education System and the Civil Servants of the Administration of the Canton of Geneva (CIA) as deputy director, and from 1994 to 1998 as executive director. In 1997, Dominique Biedermann participated in the creation of the Ethos Foundation and was its first chairman until August 1998 and managing director thereafter.
Dominique Biedermann is a member of the board of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives since 2012. He is also member of the board of directors of Expert Corporate Governance Service (ECGS), as well as member of the committee for ethics and deontology of the University of Geneva. He is regularly invited to give lectures on corporate governance and socially responsible investment, in particular at the University of Geneva and at the Institut für Finanzdienstleistung of Zug (IFZ).
He was the laureate of the Landis & Gyr 2012 Award in recognition of his personal commitment to the implementation of corporate governance best practice and the principles of sustainable development in investment activities. In 2013, Dominique Biedermann received from the University of Fribourg an honorary degree for his contribution to the adoption of good governance by Swiss companies and his commitment to socially responsible investment.
